When someone has a high degree of technical knowledge, it can often happen that their ability to speak in “plain English” that someone less expert can understand is hampered. Having found themselves immersed in their profession and its terminology for years, communicating in layman terms can be difficult. This becomes more of problem when written materials are necessary for a target audience who aren’t necessarily as knowledgeable. These can include materials for investors, company board members, potential buyers, partial experts and even, at times, other experts whose understanding is not complete.
Knowing how to rapidly research and gain a fundamental understanding of a highly technical subject is something I bring to the table. Rendering a complex or technical subject to be understandable for anyone—and, when required, to a technically savvy audience as well—provides a valuable service for many.
